The Republic of India is located in South Asia. The area of the country is 3,287,263 km2 which is the seventh largest country in the world based on the area. The current population of India is 1,334,771,169 which is the second most populous country in the world and world’s most populous democracy.
The country bordered by the Indian Ocean on the south, the Bay of Bengal on the southeast and the Arabian Sea on the southwest. It shares land borders of Pakistan at the west side; China, Nepal and Bhutan at the northeast side and Myanmar and Bangladesh at the east side.
In the Indian Ocean, India’s neighbor countries are Sri Lanka and the Maldives. It’s Nicobar and Andaman Islands share a maritime border with Indonesia and Thailand. The capital of the India is New Delhi and other metropolises are Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad.
The Indian economy ranked as the seventh largest in the world by ostensible gross domestic product (GDP) and third biggest by purchasing power parity (PPP) in 2015. In 1991, India became one of the fastest-growing significant economies and is considered a newly industrialized nation.
However, it keeps on confronting the challenges of poverty, malnutrition, corruption and insufficient public healthcare. An atomic weapons state and a territorial power, it has the world’s third biggest standing army and positions 6th in military consumption among nations.
The federal constitutional republic of India governed under a parliamentary system and comprises of 29 states and 7 union domains. India is a multilingual, pluralistic and multi-ethnic culture and is also home to a variety of wildlife in an assortment of ensured environments.

India weather 

The climate of India differs significantly across the country as some of areas are tropical, warm and humid at the same time other areas have desert surroundings and the northern areas experience temperate weather patterns.
The India’s geography differs widely and plays a major role in shaping existing climates and weather patterns.
There are seven distinct climate regions such as: the northern mountains, Rajastan Desert, west coast, northern plains, Deccan plateau, southeastern coastlands and the northeast.
There are four climatological seasons in India:
  • Winter: Regularly happening from December to March. December and January are the coldest month, when temperatures average ranges is 10–15 °C in the northwest and temperatures rise peaking around 20–25 °C in mainland of India’s southeast.
  • Summer or pre-monsoon: Regularly happening from April to June. The hottest month is April in western and southern regions and May is the hottest month for the northern regions of India. The average temperature is 32–40 °C in most of the interior.
  • Monsoon or rainy season:  Regularly happening from July to September. The humid southwest summer monsoon has dominated by the season which gradually sweeps across the country starting in late May or early June. At the beginning of October monsoon rains begin to recede from North India. South India characteristically receives more rainfall.
  • Post-monsoon or autumn season:  Regularly happening from October to November. October and November are usually cloudless in the northwest of India. In the northeast monsoon season Tamil Nadu receives most of its annual precipitation.

Population of India

The present population of India is 1,334,771,169 people which equivalent to 17.84% of world’s total population. With comparison of last year’s population, it is an increment of 1.26% that is approx 16,406,923 people. In this year the natural increase of population of the country is positive that means the number of births is more than the number of deaths. The sex (male/female) ratio of the total population is 1.068 in order to 1,068 males per 1,000 females that is high than global sex ratio (1.016). If the numbers of external migration will same on the previous year, the population of India will be decrease by 541,027, that means that the amount of people who leave Bangladesh to stay permanently in different country (emigrants) will exceeds the amount of people who come into the country to facilitate to stay there as permanent residents (immigrants). The population of India will be amplified by 45,516 persons daily in 2016.

Chennai, formerly known as Madras, and Bengaluru, formerly known as Bangalore are the largest cities in South India. Kolkata, the cultural capital of India, and Guwahati are the largest cities in East and Northeast India correspondingly.
